 The undergraduate program at Global Christian University provides students with a wide-ranging balance of biblical education drawing from New Testament Studies, Old Testament Studies, Biblical Theology, Practical Ministry, and Hermeneutics. Global Christian offers undergraduate AA and BA degrees.

degrees (BA)

    Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies degree is a four-year degree offered to students for the purpose of providing the academic preparation for real-life applications which allow students to think clearly, examine their Christian heritage, write distinctively, form a comprehensive biblical theology and worldview, and to communicate the gospel effectively.

    ABOUT THE BA DEGREE

      Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies (B.A). 180 quarter units are required for graduation. This is considered a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree. To receive this degree, the student must earn at least 45 quarter units in the field of general education. 25% of the degree must be completed at Global Christian (45 units).

      Students form a comprehensive biblical theology and worldview, to communicate the gospel effectively.

              GE courses are grouped into several broad categories designed to encourage intellect, imagination of ideas, and multiple disciplines. In order for Global Christian to confer a Bachelor’s degree, students will need to have completed a minimum of 45 quarter units of GE. For the Bachelor’s 15 units are up to the student to choose as GE elective courses; it is recommended that some of these GE units be in Communications/Thinking or additional Science/Math.               90 units made up of any of the following: additional Global Christian University courses or accepted transferred credit from other colleges.

              AREAS OF FOCUS (BA and AA) 

              Students may complete as many Areas of Focus (12 units each) and have them added to their degree and transcript at graduation. These courses may be part of the degree electives.

              • Theology – take 4 TH labeled courses
              • Ministry – take 4 PM labeled courses
              • Counseling – take 4 from Freedom Ministry, Mental Health (CL) courses, Identity (CL)
              • Christian Lifestyle – take 4 CL labeled courses
              • Evangelism – take Power Evangelism, Apologetics, Healing Ministry, and Systematic Theology

              ASSOCIATES’s

              degrees (AA)

                The Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies degree is a two-year degree offered to students for the purpose of providing an understanding of the primary doctrines of the Bible, as well as a deep understanding of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Students should gain a general knowledge of the content of Scripture and skills for accurate Biblical interpretation and application to life situations.

                ABOUT THE AA DEGREE

                  Associates of Arts in Biblical Studies (A.A). 90 quarter units are required for graduation. This is a two-year degree. To receive this degree, the student must earn at least 24 quarter units in the field of general education. 25% of the degree must be completed at Global Christian (23 units). 23 units must be in Biblical Studies (courses with headings of OT, NT, BIB, TH, CL, or PM).

                  Students will exhibit the Christian faith in contemporary culture by developing an apologetics for Christian values.

                    General Education courses are grouped into several broad categories designed to encourage intellect and imagination of ideas and disciplines. Current and prospective students are encouraged to meet with an Academic Advisor to develop an educational plan that best fulfills their general education needs and goals. In order for Global Christian to confer a degree, students will need to have completed 24 units of general educational courses. See below for more details.

                    Associates of Arts in Biblical Studies (A.A). 90 quarter units are required for graduation. 45 units minimum requirement of Global Christian courses, also known as the “residence requirement.”

                    Global Christian University offers the Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies and the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies that require a general education (GE) component. GE courses are grouped into several broad categories designed to encourage intellect, imagination of ideas, and multiple disciplines. Current and prospective students are encouraged to meet with an Academic Advisor to develop an educational plan that best fulfills their general education needs and goals.

                    In order for Global Christian to confer a Bachelor’s degree, students will need to have completed a minimum of 45 quarter units of GE (24 units for an Associate’s degree). For the Bachelor’s 15 units are up to the student to choose as GE elective courses; it is recommended that some of these GE units be in Communications/Thinking or additional Science/Math. Certain categories have specific unit requirements to be fulfilled in Areas A, B, and C:

                      Students of this program will be able to:

                      1. Demonstrate a substantial knowledge of the content of the OT and NT Scriptures.
                      2. Show a strong hermeneutic to be able to interpret, analyze, and apply the Truth of Scripture
                      3. Evidence of an increased understanding of the Person, actions, and manifestations of the Holy Spirit
                      4. Demonstrate a cultivated Christian lifestyle, character patterns, conduct, and leadership skills that support long term discipleship and ministry. 
                      5. Exhibit a strong apologetic of the gospel message and apply critical thinking skills in regards to contemporary culture.
                      6. Display practical ministry in their daily lives, home and business situations, and ministry context. 
                      7. Possess study and writing skills to study the Bible for themselves and communicate in written and oral forms to others.
