philosophy Statement
The philosophy of Global Christian University is to foster a community where faith and learning are deeply integrated. Socially and morally, students are challenged to appreciate diverse cultures, develop leadership skills, and approach every relationship in a compassionate manner. Students find they are empowered to grow in wisdom and character, and receive preparation to make a lasting impact for Christ in the world.
Global Christian University serves the Church and the greater worldwide community by offering certificate programs, college degrees, and seminary training. Our educational approach emphasizes mastery learning, where students are encouraged to engage deeply with content, receive constructive feedback, and persist until excellence is achieved. We value the process of learning as much as the outcome, recognizing that growth occurs incrementally through every lesson, course, and program.
We seek to cultivate a climate where students develop lifelong habits of critical thinking, effective communication, and research skills. Our academic environment is designed to help students realize their full potential, equipping them to serve as ethical leaders and responsible citizens. We encourage students to be filled with the Holy Spirit and His love, to serve in local churches, and to support the betterment of the world.
Guided by these foundational principles, Global Christian University is dedicated to nurturing students who are intellectually curious, spiritually vibrant, socially responsible, and morally grounded. We believe that teaching and learning most naturally flow from biblical concepts, fostering wisdom, instruction, transformation, learning, and humility. We inspire students to take personal responsibility for their decisions and to live with integrity.
- The imperative of wisdom (Deut. 4:6; Job 12:13; Psalm 51:6; Prov. 2:6, 3:13)
- The need for proper instruction (Exodus 24:12; Job 33:16; Prov. 1:7; 1 Thes. 4:1)
- The command for transformation (Romans 12:2; 2 Cor. 3:18)
- The requirement for learning (Deut. 5:1; Psalm 119:71; Jer. 10:2; Matt. 11:29)
- The obligation of humility (Prov. 15:3; Phil. 2:3; 1 Peter 5:5)

President’s Message
President Greg Holsclaw
“Our vision is to educate and equip generations of students through the Word and by the Spirit”
Global Christian’s 50+ years of academic and spiritual training have been defined by the motto, “Pursuing the Spirit and the Word.” My association with Global Christian started in 2019, with the idea of bringing ministry activation courses to the college. In July of 2022, I accepted the invitation of Emeritus President David Sell and the Board of Trustees of Global Christian University.
My personal and professional hope for anyone I meet is that 1) they have an encounter with God’s love and presence, 2) they are equipped with the Word and with faith in the Spirit of God, and 3) they feel empowered and released into the world, activated in their gifts and callings from the Lord. It is my pleasure to serve the students, staff, faculty, and supporters each day with the hope and message of Christ, the encouragement and blessings found in God’s Word, and to mentor deeper partnership with Holy Spirit as we walk in faith with the Lord.
